Little Elves' Workshop

Before we left for Winter Break, we got together with our buddies for a day of craft making, game playing, and treat eating! We put on our reindeer ears and acted just like little elves, preparing gifts for our families.
Again, we were super fortunate to have so many family members make this event possible! Thanks for helping the little elves!

I hope you all have a blessed holiday with your families!

Gingerbread Houses

These are the different Gingerbread books we've enjoyed over the past few weeks:

These books have helped us make text-to-text connections (comparing the different versions), and have prepared us for our own versions! These will be going home soon but I hope you are as amazed as I am! Oh, the creativity! We have so many different ideas: the gingerbread princess, gingerbread kangaroo, gingerbread cat, gingerbird, and more! We also have unique versions of ones that have already been written like The Gingerbread Baby and The Gingerbread Girl. It's amazing!
We had to make houses, similar to the one we read about in Gingerbread Friends.
We started with a milk carton...Added some frosting...
Got our candies and graham crackers organized...
Added the crackers to the house...
picked out candies...
and voila!

Gingerbread

We have been studying the different versions of the Gingerbread Man. We all picked our favorites. Here are some first graders sharing theirs with you.
